We are in the fifth week of the New Year and most of us are focusing our attention on losing weight; because, we could not control ourselves during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. And, that’s OK! Now we are ready to take on a New Year, a new beginning. How exciting for some, and frustrating for others.
We are all aware of the Government Shutdown. Many people are distraught. Fearful! Anxiety levels are at an all-time high. The question you should ask yourself is, “How can I find peace during this chaotic time?” “How do I rise above life’s turmoil?”
One of my favorite techniques in counseling and coaching is a simple technique that I ask my clients to adopt, that technique is a statement of, “I Will!” When things are going great; “What will you say I Will to? When things are not going so great, “What will you say I will to?”
In Spite of what's going on NOW, your new year can only be as good as your “I Will.” It will be as good as you “think” it will be. What you experience in the new year; is determined by effort, time, and your thoughts on moving from where you are to where you want to be. Are you setting goals? Are you learning new skills? What are you pouring into you? If you are not saving and using your money wisely, then you too can become a victim of not having enough, "When Life Happens." Are You living from paycheck to paycheck? Make goals a part of your life, goals that will drive you, motivate you, and compel you to go the extra miles, despite life’s challenges and difficulties.
Have you ever thought about why some people thrive and others can barely make ends meet? They have goals, they write their vision. It is a fact that people who set goals succeed. They know what they want, and they know where they are going. You can read thousands of books about success, wealth, money, prosperity, the good life, and they will all talk about a common thread that is woven within each story of a successful person. That common thread among each of them is their ability to set goals. They have this uncanny ability to start with small, measure goals; accomplish that goal and then move on to the next goal. Will You Say I Will to Setting Goals?
Research has shown that only 5% of people set goals and those 5% owns 95% of the resources. Setting goals forces you to clarify what you want. People who don’t set goals live in a mode of reaction versus creation, they live without intention, and without direction. Will you say “I Will” to a new and better life? Start Setting Goals Today.
